Free BTCL connections on Mujib Borsho

DHAKA: The government will provide free landline connection and reconnection of the state-owned telecommunications company Bangladesh Telecommunications Limited (BTCL) on the occasion of Mujib Borhso.

Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mostafa Jabbar revealed the government dicision while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday (Oct 22).

Mostafa Jabbar said the government has declared 2020 as Mujib Borsho on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

From now on, the BTCL connection will be offered free of charge. However, those who have dues will have to pay it.

Mentioning that Bangabandhu Satellite-2 will be launched in space between 2021 and 2023, he said that Doyel’s laptops based on state-of-art technology will come to market soon. Laptops will hit market in the country at Tk 10,000 to 12,000.
