DHAKA: Bangladesh men’s under-23 team win gold medal beating Sri Lanka by seven wickets in South Asian Games Men's Cricket Competition at Kirtipur in Nepal.

Earlier on Monday (Dec 09), Bangladesh skipper Shanto sent Sri Lanka to bat first after winning the toss in the final.

Sri Lanka managed to score only 122 losing all of their wickets in 20 overs. Hasan Mahmud bagged three wickets for Bangladesh conceding just 20 runs in his four overs while Tanvir Islam picked up two.  

In reply, Bangladesh reached their target in 18.1 overs losing just three wickets.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 35 off 28 while opener Saif Hossain and Soumya Sarkar scored 33 off 30 and 27 off 28 runs respectively.

On Sunday, Bangladesh women’s cricket team claimed gold in the 13th South Asian Games, beating Sri Lanka in the final by 2 runs at Pokhara.
