DHAKA: Fatema Mujib earned a gold medal in fencing at the 13th South Asian Games in Naya Bazar, Kiritipur, Kathmandu on Saturday (Dec 07), bringing the seventh gold medal for Bangladesh.

Earlier in the day, weightlifters Ziarul Islam and Mabia Akter Simanta clinched gold medals in the men’s 96kg weight category and the women’s 76kg category respectively.

On Thursday, Humaira Akhter Antara and Marjan Aktar Priya bagged two gold medals in women's individual under-61kg and under-55kg weight categories in karate respectively while Al Amin secured another gold medal in the men's individual under-60kg weight category in karate.

Dipu Chakma secured the first gold medal for the country after winning the taekwondo poomsae event 29-plus-year category On Monday.
