13th SAG: Bangladesh Women thrash Nepal by 10 wickets

DHAKA: Bangladesh openers- Murshidha Khatun and Ayesha Rahman safely guided India to a comfortable 10-wicket victory over Nepal Women’s team in their second game of the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SA Games) on Wednesday (Dec 04) at Pokhara in Nepal.

Bangladesh sent Nepal to bat first after winning the toss. The hosts failed to come with a dismal display with the bat as they fell all-out only for 50 in 19.2 overs.

Nepal captain Rubina Chhetry scored the highest 13 while four of Nepal’s 11 batters failed to score anything.

Rabey Khan bowled four overs and conceded only eight runs to pick up four wickets in her debut for the national team. Pace-bowler Jahanara Alam bagged two wickets, however.

In reply, Bangladesh Women chased down the target of 51 runs in 7.4 overs without losing a wicket. 

Murshidha Khatun and Ayesha Rahman- remained unbeaten for 23 and 26 runs respectively.

In the first game, Bangladesh beat their Sri Lanka by seven wickets. 

Bangladesh Women will face the Maldives on Thursday at the same venue.
