BCB XI suffer warm-up loss to Zimbabwe

DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI suffered defeat to visiting Zimbabwe in the only practice match ahead of the T20 tri-series.  

The Tigers won the toss and set the visitors 143-run target after batting first, losing 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs, in Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah of Narayanganj Wednesday (September 11).

Zimbabwe reached the target losing 3 wickets in 17.2 overs.

Brendan Taylor's 57* not out off 44 balls and Skipper Hamilton Masakadza's 31 off 23 balls routed them to victory while Timycen Maruma made it happen by stormy 46 off 28 balls.

Spinner Afif Hossain hauled 3 wickets. 

On Bangladesh side, Sabbir Rahman scored 30 off 31 balls and Mushfiqur Rahim 26 off 26 balls.

Sean Williams bagged 3 wickets while Neville Madziva 2 and Kyle Jarvis and Tendai Chatara 1 wicket each.

However, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will lock horns in the T20 tri-series opener on September 13. Afghanistan is the another team of tournament.
