 England win toss, opt to bat

DHAKA: England have won the toss and opted to bat first against Afghanistan in the 24th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford, Manchester on Tuesday (June 17).

The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm (Bangladesh Time). 

James Vince makes his debut. He replaces star opener Jason Roy who ruled out the next two-three games after a hamstring tear he sustained against West Indies.

Besides, Moeen Ali is back for Liam Plunkett.

Morgan says, “The wicket looks really good, with the weather that's been around everyone at OT has done a magnificent job getting things ready". 

Gulbadin Naib said that this is an Asian condition wicket. He also wanted to bat first.

Afghanistan are at the bottom of the point table of the World Cup, facing hosts England.
