Bangladesh opt to bowl against Windies

DHAKA: Bangladesh have won the toss and opted to bowl first against West Indies in the 23rd Match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on Monday.

The must-win match for both teams is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm (Bangladesh Time).

Liton Das comes in for Mithun. Darren Bravo replaces Carlos Brathwaite. Andre Russell returns.

After wining the toss, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza said, “We have been practicing continuously for the last four-five days, so the boys are well prepared”.

Jason Holder said, “Not too bad to bat first though we would have bowled first. But good opportunity to put up runs. You probably have to fight in the first 10 overs, which is what you expect, and we think we have the firepower to do it”.

West Indies and Bangladesh have three points from four matches, one of which came from their respective match washed out by rain.

Just before the World Cup began, Bangladesh defeated West Indies in three straight games in a tri-series in Ireland.
