Dhaka: The hearing on the corruption case of making illegal wealth against Gayeshshar Chandra Roy, a member of BNP’s policymaking standing committee, was deferred again Tuesday.

A Dhaka court dealing with the graft case set July 5 as the date for hearing after Gayeshshar’s lawyer submitted an application before the court for extending the schedule of hearing the witness.

Mafidul Islam, Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission, filed the case with Ramna Thana against Gayeshshar on charge of earning Tk 2 crore 86 lakh 95 thousand 105 “illegally”.

The watchdog body submitted charge sheet against him on February 4.

Advocate Sanaullah Mia and Advocate Joynul Abedin, among others, were present at the court on Gayeshshar’s side.
