DHAKA: Officer-in-Charge of Hazaribagh police station Mainul Islam was injured critically as Jamaat-Shibir men hurled cocktail aiming him in city’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday morning.

Sources said, while trying to reach some Shibir men who were gathering in the 9/A area of Dhanmondi in the morning, they hurled cocktails aiming OC Mainul Islam, leaving him critically injured.

He was given treatment at emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Confirming the matter, on duty Sub-Inspector of Hazaribagh police station Sana Mia told banglanews that Shibir leaders blasted five to six cocktails aiming the OC. We have sent a mobile team immediately after the incident.

Police have been trying to arrest the miscreants, he added.
