Strict action if violence, says Tuku

DHAKA: State Minister for Home Affairs Ministry Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku warned that any subversive activities would not be tolerated in the name of rally-demonstration by the opposition BNP in the country.

“If anybody tries to create anarchic situation it will be protested strictly,” he said.

The state minister came up with the assertion in reply to the questions of journalists at his secretariat office on Thursday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), however, imposed a ban on holding all kinds of rally, protest or demonstration in the capital.

On the other hand, BNP expressed its firm determination over holding October 25 rally at any cost.

In response to another question, he said permission for holding rally depends upon DMP considering public safety.

Moreover, he refuted the allegations of mass arrest elsewhere the country ahead of the October 25 rally.
