DHAKA: Candidates from BNP-backed lawyers' platform Jatiyatabadi Oikya Panel have secured 10 posts including that of President and General Secretary in the elections to the Dhaka Bar Association.

BNP supported candidates Md Iqbal Hossain and Hossen Ali Kahan Hasan were elected president and general secretary of the Dhaka Bar respectively.

The results show that out of 23 posts, AL backed Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad won 13 posts.

The two-day long election for the 2020-21 tenure began on February 26 at the lawyers' association auditorium of Dhaka Bar in the capital.

In last year, Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad had swept the election to the Dhaka Bar Association by securing 18 out of 27 posts.
