DHAKA: Incumbent Mayor Sayeed Khokon on Thursday (Dec 26) bought Awami League (AL) nomination form for election to Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

He along with his family members collected the nomination paper from AL President’s political office in Dhanmondi.

Earlier on Wednesday, current mayor M Atiqul Islam collected AL nomination form for election to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) while lawmakers Fazle Nur Tapash and Haji Selim collected bought nomination forms for DSCC.

The elections to Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka North City Corporation will be held on January 30 next.

Aspirants can submit their nomination papers until December 31 to the Election Commission and it will be scrutinized on January 2, while the last date of candidature withdrawal is January 9.
