DHAKA: The ruling Awami League (AL)  has drawn up various programmes to celebrate party  President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 73rd birthday on Saturday (September 28). 

The party will hold a discussion at the city’s Krishibid Institution at 3.30pm on Saturday. Party’s Presidium Member and Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury will chair the function.  Top leaders of the party will address it.

Milad and doa mahfils will be offered in the capital as well as different parts of the country.

Like previous years, AL and its affiliated organisations will celebrate the day through various programmes on the life and achievements of Sheikh Hasina. 

Though premier is now in the USA to attend the 74th Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, her birthday will be celebrated in a befitting manner at home and abroad.

Sheikh Hasina, the eldest of the five children of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Begum Fazilatunnesa, was born at Tungipara in Gopalganj on September 28 in 1947.
