DHAKA: The rebel aspirants of Awami League who contested the last upazila parishad elections and their patrons will be served show-cause notice beginning from Sunday (September 8).

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the disclosure Saturday (September 7).

"The patrons may include MPs and ministers too," he said at a press briefing held at Awami League president's Dhanmondi political office. 

"They will be given three weeks to reply the notice," Obaidul Quader said.

The number of patrons may stand half of around 150 recipients to be served the notice, added the road transport & bridges minister.

None of those having complaints against will be spared, he warned.
