DHAKA: Five cocktails were blasted in front of BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the capital city on Monday (June 24) afternoon.

Besides, another cocktail was found unexploded around 1:15pm.

No casualties were reported in the explosion.

Earlier, a group of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders and activists staged protest programme in front of BNP's Nayapaltan office demanding withdrawal of the expulsion order and removal of age limit for new committee.

The agitating leaders-activists took position in front of party office since 11:30am.

Mamun Billah, vice-president of the resolved JCD committee, told Banglanews, "When we came to the end of the program, the rival group made a cocktail blast from behind, leaving Al Ashraf Mamun, former joint secretary of JCD, and some others injured”.

Abu Sayeed, Sub Inspector (SI) of Paltan Police Station, told Banglanews that explosion of 4/5 small-sized cocktails took place while aggrieved JCD leaders were leaving the spot.
