BNP’s dual stance over parliament now clear: Quader Obaidul Quader talks to reporters

DHAKA: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday (June 10) said BNP has taken self-contradictory stance over joining the 11th national parliament and it is now clear.

He made the reaction in wake of BNP MP Barrister Rumeen Farhana's comment soon after taking oath that the parliament is 'illegal'.

"Why she has become so serious to become an MP of the parliament which is illegal," Quader, also the minister for road transport and bridges, said.

He was exchanging views with reporters, over recent issues, at the conference room of his ministry Monday (June 10).

"How they will wage movement. The party secretary general (Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir) hasn't taken oath even after being elected. Moreover, a BNP district unit president is running for the same constituency, in the by-polls. Those who follow such policy, have failed in past, how will they be succeed in future," he added.

Ruling out the claims of political environment lacks for which BNP leaders couldn't go home for Eid celebrations, Quader said BNP failed in past and will see the same in future.
