CHATTOGRAM: Ruling Awami League has started a special extended meeting of its seven organizing district units under Chattogram division Saturday (May 11).

Awami League Acting General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif and leaders of the district units inaugurated the meeting through hoisting national and party flags and balloons, at Kazir Dewri International Convention Center.  

Central Awami League Presidium member Abdul Matin Khasru MP, Publicity Affairs Secretary also Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Organizing Secretary also Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Chatogram Metropolitan unit Awami League General Secretary and Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and leaders of Awami League's Chattogram metropolitan, north and south district units, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachhari units, among others, were present.

The meeting, attended by some 700 representatives, was organized as part of reinforcement of the grassroots ahead of the central conference, said party sources.
