DHAKA: A sum of Tk 43 lakh was reportedly stolen from Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad's Banani office in the capital city.

Ershad's Deputy Press Secretary Khandaker Delwar Jalali confirmed the matter to media.

A locker was broken to conduct the theft, he said.

Preparations are underway to file a case, in this regard, he added. 

Two security guards of the building were interrogated, said Banani Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mokhlesur Rahman.
