BCL leader jailed for assaulting woman schoolteacher Mominul Islam (center) in police custody.

MYMENSINGH: A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was jailed for ten days on charge of eve-teasing and assaulting a female schoolteacher in Muktagacha of Mymensingh.

The convict, Mominul Islam, is the organizing secretary of BCL's Shaheed Smrity Govt College unit in Muktagachha.

Executive Magistrate of a mobile court and Muktagacha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Suborna Sarker handed down him the jail term.

Sources said Mominul hit a female assistant teacher of Muktagacha's NN Municipality Govt Primary School with his bike, while she was on way to home.

As she protested, Mominul assaulted her and remarked abusive openly, for nearly half an hour.

Afterwards, the teacher filed a case.

Police arrested Mominul on April 22.

He confessed to assaulting the woman before the court on Tuesday.

Arrest warrant was issued against Mominul in various cases, said Muktagacha Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ali Mahmud.
