HC rejects Moudud’s plea in ACC case

DHAKA: The High Court rejected an appeal of BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed seeking stay on proceedings of a case filed against him by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice SM Quddus Zaman issued the order Monday (April 8).

Moudud Ahmed moved for himself. Lawyer Abdullah Al Mahmud was with him, at the courtroom.

Lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan moved for the ACC.

So, there is no bar to run the case at trial court, said Khurshid Alam.

ACC filed the case accusing Moudud over possessing wealth worth Tk 7.38 crore beyond known income and concealing information of about Tk 4.40 crore, with Gulshan Police Station on September 16, 2007.

Charges were formed against him on June 21, 2018.
