DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Bogura district Awami League president Mamtaj Uddin.

In a condolence message, the premier prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members on Sunday (February 17).

Mamtaj Uddin was a freedom fighter and a senior politician.

Mamtaj Uddin died at 3 am while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College on Sunday (February 17).

He was 74.

He had been suffering from multiple diseases including old age complexities.
