DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) has rescheduled to Mar 14 the voting in five upazila parishads of Gopalganj district.

EC Deputy Secretary Md Atiar Rahman sent necessary directives to the Returning Officers (ROs), in this regard, on Tuesday (Feb 12).

The upazilas are—Gopalganj Sadar, Tungipara, Kotalipara, Kashiani and Muksudpur.

The polls in the five upazilas were earlier scheduled to take place on Mar 24. 

This time, the upazila parisahd polls will be held in five phases.
