Demand for Nat’l dialogue on fresh polls a mockery: Quader Obaidul Quader speaking to reporters

GAZIPUR:  Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader belittled Jatiya Oikyafront’s demand for national dialogue to hold a fresh election canceling the results of the December 30 parliamentary elections.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, was inspecting the construction work of a flyover and 4-lane Dhaka-Tangail highway in Chandra area under Kaliakoir upazila on Friday (January 11).

The minister said, “The whole world, including all the democratic countries, acknowledged and praised the 11th national election of Bangladesh. Raising a demand, in such a circumstance, for national dialogue to arrange a fresh election is nothing but a mockery.”

It, Quader also said, doesn’t matter to us whatever they (BNP- Oikyafront) say, but the opinion of countrymen. Countrymen gave mandate to Prime Minister Hasina for their trust in her leadership and honesty and her vision for a developed Bangladesh.

People did not see such a clear mandate for boat after 70s decade. They can say that this election was not right. Therefore, there is no question regarding the polls in anywhere in the world, not even in Bangladesh, Obaidul Quader added.

Jatiya Oikyafront was formed on October 13, 2018.

Jatiya Oikyafront includes Dr Kamal Hossain-led Gano Forum, ASM Abdur Rab's Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Mahmudur Rahman Manna's Nagorik Oikya, Bangabir Kader Siddique-led Krishak Sramik Janata League, and BNP
