New cabinet members pay homage to Bangabandhu

DHAKA: New cabinet, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, paid tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in city’s Dhanmondi area on Tuesday (Jan 8) after a day they took oath of office.

At first, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait in the morning on the occasion of formation of new government for the third consecutive term.

After placing the wreath, the premier stood in solemn silence for few minutes as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the architect of Bangladesh’s independence.

Flanked by the new cabinet colleagues, Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League (AL) president, placed another wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation.

Earlier on Monday (Jan 7), AL President Sheikh Hasina took oath as the prime minister for the fourth time and the new cabinet comprising 24 ministers, 19 state ministers and three deputy ministers took oath at Bangabhaban.
