DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyafront leaders on Sunday (Jan 6) said none of the seven lawmakers elected from Oikyafront in the 11th national parliamentary elections will take oath as Members of Parliament.

Mostofa Mohsin Montu, Gonoforum general secretary and also steering committee member of Jatiya Oikyafront, cleared its position while briefing the reporters after attending a meeting of Oikyafront leaders in city’s Motijheel area.

He claimed that some newspapers and online news portals ran stories quoting the remark of Dr Kamal Hossain wrongly. “We are now clearly said that there is no ground of taking oath by Jatiya Oikyafront MPs-elect”, the Gonoforum leader added.

Earlier on Saturday (Jan 5), Dr Kamal said two MPs-elect of the Gonoforum may take oath and join the 11th parliament.
