DHAKA: India’s Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi greeted Awami League President Sheikh Hasina for securing landslide victory of her party in the 11th national elections. 

Press wing of Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Wednesday (Jan 2) confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Sonia Gandhi wished the continuation of peace, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh, it added.

In the December 30 parliamentary election, Awami League-led alliance secured 288 seats while BNP-led Oikyafront bagged only seven seats.
