Go early and cast votes with no fear: Dr Kamal Dr Kamal Hossain among the Oikyafront leaders at the press briefing

DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyafront top leader Dr Kamal Hossain urged the voters to go to the polling stations at early hours in the morning of Election Day and exercise their franchise with no fear.

“A festive atmosphere is supposed to persist in the country as voting will begin after the night. But the people are still in confusion and doubt. Removing the suspicion is very urgent,” he said.

“I am urging the voters…go to the polling centers early in the morning and cast your ballots. You will not be afraid. Your presence will make the miscreants flee away. They cannot win over the strength of people,” added the opposition alliance convener.

On the eve of the 11th parliamentary elections, Dr Kamal was addressing a media brief at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) Saturday (Dec 29).

BNP Standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Joint General Secretary Moazzem Hossain Alal, Gono Forum Executive President Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Secretary General Mostofa Mohsin Montu and central leaders Jaglul Haider Africk and Dr Jafrullah Chowdhury, among others, were present at the media brief.

Dr Kamal urged the fresh voters to cast their ballots on time and fearlessly.

The Gono Forum President also urged Election Commission (EC) officials, Returning, Presiding and Polling officers, law enforcement agencies and armed forces to stay alert and serve proper duties to ensure people’s voting rights.

The 11th parliamentary elections are slated for Sunday (Dec 30).
