DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyafront leader also BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said their participation in 11th national election depends on the conduct of Election Commission (EC) and the government.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam told media after emerging from a meeting with EC at the EC building in city on Wednesday (November 14).

In response to a question posed by reporters, Mirza Fakhrul Islam said, “We discussed about deployment of army. They (EC) said they will consider deploying army at each center.”

“We urged them not to use EVM, but EC said EVM will be used only in city corporations on a limited scale. Besides, EC told us if we can prove that EVM is not safe, only then they will not use it,” Mirza Fakhrul Islam also said.

Jatiya Oikyafront leader Dr Kamal Hossain said: “Discussion with the EC was satisfactory.”
