Oikyo Front denied permission for Sylhet rally Leaders of Jatiya Oikyo Front

SYLHET: Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) denied permission to Jatiya Oikyafront for holding a rally in the city on October 23. 

Sylhet district BNP secretary general Ali Ahmed confirmed the matter on Thursday (October 18).

He told Banglanews that the police commissioner was asked for permission to hold rally in Sylhet on Wednesday (October 17). On the next day, Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-charge Mohammad Selim Mia informed the denial via phone. The police official, however, did not clarify the matter.

SMP additional deputy commissioner (media) Md Abdul Wahab told Banglanews no permission was given to Jatiya Oikyo for holding rally there.

On the other hand, BNP chairperson’s media wing member Shairul Kabir khan said police gave permission for rally on Thursday morning.
