DHAKA: Three senior BNP leaders got nearly four months to submit to the court the copies of their bail orders in a case they have been sued in for threatening Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

A Dhaka court Wednesday fixed December 21 as the latest date for submitting the copies of bail orders.
Magistrate Roksana Begum Happy of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court passed the order in response to a petition filed by the three leaders--BNP Secretary-General Khandaker Delwar Hossain, Vice-Chairman Shah Moazzem Hossain and Standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia.

The defence lawyers pleaded to the court for extending the time.

Joynul Abedin Mejbah, a defence lawyer, told banglanews24.com.bd that the three BNP leaders got two months’ bail from the High Court on August 22.

Awami Ulema League president Ilyas Hossain Bin Helali filed the case against the trio on August 1.

According to the case statement, the BNP leaders issued ‘death threat’ to the Prime Minister at Muktangon in Dhaka on July 25 saying that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would meet with the same fate as her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
