Sedition case against Moudud, ex-Jamaat MP Taher in Khulna

KHULNA: A sedition case was filed against BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed and former Jamaat MP Dr Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher here Sunday for delivering “provocative” speeches against the government.  

Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate MM Sazzad Ali filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate and Cognizance Court.

The court asked Khulna Sadar thana to take necessary action in this regard.

Daily Janakantho Editor Atiqullah Khan Masud and five others were made witnesses of the case.
 
In the complaint, the plaintiff said that the Jamaat leader delivered provocative speeches at a roundtable in presence of Moudud Ahmed on August 4 at the National Press Club. “But the BNP leader did not protest the comment,” he alleged.
