DHAKA: Three more people have been tested positive for coronavirus infection pushing the total number of confirmed cases to 27 across the country. 

Among the newly infected, one is woman and two are men.

Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), disclosed the latest figure at a press conference at their Dhaka office on Sunday (March 22). 

As two more patients recovered in last 24 hours, according to the IEDCR, the total number of recovered patients reached five. 

The fast spreading coronavirus has already claimed 13,071 lives and infected 311,894 people globally while in Bangladesh, two deaths were confirmed so far.
