TANGAIL:  Four persons were killed and at least six others injured as a Leguna hit a Pickup van in front of Sohagpara Jui-Juthi Pump area under Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on Saturday (February 22).

The accident happened on Dhaka-Tangail highway at around 6 am.

The deceased were--Jahanur, 18, wife of Sultan Miha of Gobindarai village under Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha, Tapan Chandra Das, 25, son of Amalya Chandra Das, of the same area, Marjina Begum, 27, wife of Al Amin Miha of Gopalpur Upazila of Tangail and Rasheda Begum of Rangpur.

According to police, all the deceased had reportedly been working for 'Nasir Glass Industry.' The injured were admitted to Kumudini Hospital.

The driver could not be detained as the covered van fled away, Gorai highway police in-charge Moniruzzaman told Banglanews.
