GAZIPUR: The second phase of 55th Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the Muslims, has begun on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi on the outskirts of the city on Thursday (January 16).

The last phase of Ijtema began with 'Aam Bayan' (general sermons) by Faysal Sura Owasiful Islam after Asr prayers.

The final phase is scheduled to end with Akheri Munajat (final prayers) on Sunday (January 19).

Devotees from home and abroad are thronging the Ijtema ground to take part in the religious event, Banglanews correspondent reports.
