DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested two former officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in a case filed for causing loss of Tk 118 crores to government exchequer from the capital's Segunbagicha area.
ACC public relations officer (PRO) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee said Biman former director (Marketing and Sell) Mohammad Ali Ahsan and its former deputy general manager (DGM) Iftekhar Hossain Chowdhury were arrested from city’s Kakrail area on Tuesday (December 3).
Earlier in the morning, ACC assistant director Md Nasir Uddin filed a case with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1 against 16 Biman officials including the duo.
According to prosecution, the accused caused Tk 118 crore losses to the government by not collecting cargo handling charge of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
