SIRAJGANJ: Three probe bodies were formed following Rangpur Express derailment in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj on Thursday noon (November 14).
A 5-member committee, headed by Abdullah Al Mamun, who is divisional officer of Pakshi Railway Station, was instructed to submit report within 3 working days, Western Railway Division Manager Mizanur Rahman told Banglanews.
On behalf of district administration, another 5-member committee, led by additional deputy commissioner (overall) Feroz Mahmood, was constituted to inquiry into cause of the accident.
Relief train is performing rescue operation, as it reached 5 hours after the accident. It will take a few hours to finish operation.
Six bogies of the Rangpur Express veered off the tracks at Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj, causing fire onboard on Thursday noon (November 14).
Therefore, rail communication between Dhaka and northern districts of the country was snapped.
Loco master and assistant loco master were injured in the incident. They were admitted to a local hospital.
