Fana Fillah: Dissolve into the supreme light By Ayreen Khan

Sufi path is a path of purification that investigates the truth about self. The quest is not out of idle intellectual curiosity rather with a definite purpose.

Sufis find there truth in light of the holy Quran and in the path of Prophet Muhammad’s (Sw) philosophy.

Thus on 12 Rabiul Awal, to celebrate Eid-e-Miladunnabi, Artist Ayreen khan opens her solo sufi based art exhibition “Fana Fillah” on 9 November 2019 at Begum Restaurant and Gallery, Darjibari, Purbachal, Dhaka. This month-long exhibition will last till 7 December 2019.

The exhibition is open for all from 11am to 8 pm.

There are 12 artworks in this exhibition. Center piece of the exhibition is called “Fana Fillah” a 25x5 feet long painting that narrates the deeper secrets of creation from atom to energy, evolution of civilizations and its process. Among her other works, Dhikr, a painting of whirling dervishes, portrays true love of a seeker with the whirling universe.

Other paintings depict geometric patterns with symbolic meanings and spiritual codes. As Ayreen says “This exhibition is an expression of my deeper desire to find my root a journey to unravel the truth of the universe, from where have I come and to where would I go”.

“Her practice of Sufism led her to explore the beauty of supreme Nur and His creation. Her works are colorful, sometimes psychedelic in essence. She put enormous effort to create each art work using extremely detailed geometric patterns, influenced by Islamic art forms of mosques and other symbolic wisdom of Sufi path.”- says the curator of the exhibition Sufi Artist Ronni Ahmmed.

The inaugural event was attended by musician Shayan Chowdhury Arnab, singer Sunidhi Nayak, Sufi musician Soumyadip Murshidabad and Maimun Khan and her band Moon Flower Project.

In her first solo exhibition by Ayreen Khan, she is presenting her art philosophy with love and wisdom through various paintings.
