DHAKA: Ferry services on Shimulia-Kathalbari route of Padma river have resumed on Monday (Nov 11) morning after two days of its disruption due to inclement weather triggered by the cyclone “Bulbul.
All vessels, including launch-speedboats and ferries, have started operating on this route from Monday (November 11morning).
The Bangladesh Inland Shipping Authority (BIWTC) Kanthalbari Ghat Sources confirmed this information to Banglanews.
Earlier on Saturday, plying of launch and speedboats on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route remains suspended since Saturday (Nov 9) morning.
Besides, the authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) suspended the services over the same reason on that day.
The BIWTC authorities allowed operation of ferry services on the route following Cyclone Bulbul weakens, Abdul Alim, general manager of BIWTC at Kathalbari Ferry ghat.
