Woman sued for ruining rooftop garden

SAVAR (DHAKA): A case was filed against the woman for ruining rooftop garden in a house on CRP road in Savar, on outskirt of Dhaka city Wednesday (October 23) afternoon.
 
Later, she was sent to Dhaka court from Savar Model police station around 5pm after showing her arrested in the case.

Earlier in the day, Police have detained the woman who cut down plants in a rooftop garden at a building on CRP Road in Savar.

The arrestee was identified as Khaleda Akhter Lucky, 45, wife of local resident Selim.

A team of police, led by Savar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Noor Mohammad Khan, arrested her from her house, Parveen, Duty Officer of Savar Police Station, told Banglanews.

Noor Mohammad Khan said legal action against Lucky was underway. 

Following the video went viral on social media, including Facebook, where the woman was seen cutting down some plants on Tuesday (October 22), criticism erupted across the country. 

Many questioned Lucky's attitude for expressing disputes with anyone on such plants.

As seen in the video posted by the victim, Sumaiya Habib, Lucky was cutting down all the plants in the rooftop garden made by Sumaiya's mother. Lucky did not stop after even garden owner was crying.

Lucky even along with her son and some friends of him attempted to hit Sumaiya’s mother at one stage of obstruction.
