Fahad murder: Tanvir on fresh remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court placed Khandaker Tabakkharul Islam Tanvir on a three-day fresh remand in connection with the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saeed granted the remand on Thursday (October 17).

Last October 8, his was remanded fro five days. Later, on October 13, he was sent to jail during the remand period.

Then on October15, investigation office of the case Wahiduzzaman filed a seven-day remand petition for Tanvir.

Abrar Fahad, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of BUET, was beaten to death inside the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7.

Police recovered his body from between the ground floor and the second floor of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall at 3am on the day.

Abrar’s father Barkat Ullah filed a case against 19 people with Chawkbazar Police Station in connection with the Abrar murder.

Police have so far arrested 20 persons in connection with the murder.
