KHULNA: Four alleged members of a Sundarban-based robber gang were killed early on Tuesday (Oct 15) in a “gunfight” with Rab of the forest in Koyra upazila of Khulna, Rab said.

The dead include Aminur, leader of the gang locally known as Aminur Bahini, said RAB-4 captain Lt. Colonel Syed Mohammed Nourus Saleh Yousuf, adding that the identities of others were yet to be confirmed.

He said, “The gunfight ensued early in the morning when the bandits of Aminur Bahini opened fire on a team of Rab-6, prompting them to retaliate, in the forest in Koyra upazila area.

Later, the elite force recovered firearms and bullets from the spot.
