DHAKA: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal reiterated that criminal, whoever the person may be, would be brought to book.
He also said, “There is no godfather, grandfather or big fish to our book, we only know the criminals.”
The minister made the remarks while talking to the journalists, at the Secretariat on Monday (September 23), about ongoing raids against illegal businesses including drugs and casino
During the recent raids, a number of people including the Awami League party leaders were arrested across the country and the capital. The media reported that high-profile personalities are also behind this.
Asked if they would be arrested or not as they are backed by powerful force, Home Minister said: “We say whoever commits wrong, we are bringing wrongdoers to the book. Here, high-profile or low-profile does not matter to us.”
‘If a high-profile committed a crime, we also caught them. Our parliament members are not getting away with this, elected members are also judged by the law. So, high-profile does not matter to us,” he said.
