NARAYANGANJ: Police and the Detective Branch (DB) have started raiding a house suspecting it a militant den in Tokkar Math area of Fatullah here on Monday.

Meanwhile, a bomb disposal unit entered the house of a former bank officer Joynal Abedin around 10:30am, Inspector of Narayanganj District Police Sajjad Rumon told Banglanews.

Three suspected militants including a couple were arrested during the raid , Banglanews correspondent reports.

The arrested were identified as Fariduddin Rumi, 27, his wife Jannatul Foara Anu, 22, and Jamal Uddin, 23. Both are the sons of Joynal Abedin.

The members of the The members of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) cordoned off the house around 4am acting on a tip-off that militants were hiding there.

Besides, 17 houses adjacent to the suspected militant den were searched during the drive, Sajjad Rumon added.
