8 Rohingyas held with 2 lakh pieces of yaba pills

COX’S BAZAR: Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCB) detained eight Rohingyas in possession of two lakh pieces of yaba pills in a drive conducted at deep sea-on the south side of St. Martin's Island.

The seized yaba tablets are worth Taka 6 crore.

According to an email message issued by BCB Media Officer (Lt. BN) Hayat Ibn Siddique on Friday (September 20), a fishing trawler, which came from Myanmar, was waiting at sea to supply yaba pills for Bangladesh market. On secret information, the raid was launched on Thursday night (September 19). Sensing something fishy, the boat was searched as a result yaba tablets were found.

8 Rohingyas and yaba pills were transferred to Teknaf police station. Legal action will be taken against them, Media Officer also said.
