DHAKA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 142 persons from a casino at Fakirapool in Dhaka on Wednesday (September 18).

A mobile court of the elite force led by executive magistrate Sarwoer Alam conducted the drive at Fakirarpool Youngmen's Club around 5:30pm and detained them.

ASP Mizanur Rahman, assistant director (media and legal wing) of RAB confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

RAB members later at 7:30pm arrested the casino owner Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, also organizing secretary of the Dhaka city unit of ruling Awami League's youth front Jubo League from his Gulshan-2 residence in the capital.

A huge amount of money, foreign liquor and some casino boards were seized from the casino, he added.
