MYMENSINGH: Rail communication of Mymensingh with Dhaka resumed on Tuesday (September 17) noon one hour after derailment of an inter-city train in Kewatkhali rail crossing area.
A compartment of the Jamalpur-bound train Teesta Express from Dhaka veered off the tracks near Kewatkhali rail crossing around 11:15am, halting train services on the Mymensingh-Dhaka route, said Zahurul Islam, superintendent of Mymensingh railway station.
A relief train from Kewatkhali Loco Shed went to the scene to salvage the derailed train and after nearly an hour the rail communication was resumed around 12:10pm, the official added.
