Drug peddler killed in Satkhira ‘gunfight’

SATKHIRA: A suspected drug peddler was killed in a reported gunfight between two drug smuggling gangs in the suburb of Satkhira early on Friday (August 23)

Deceased Munsur Rahman was accused in 14 cases filed under narcotic control act in different police stations and hailed from Chandipur village of Shyamnagar upazila, according to police. 

Police claimed that Munsur was killed during gunfight between two groups of drug dealers. 

Mostafizur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, told Banglanews that upon hearing the gunfire early in the morning, a team of police rushed in. Later, the bullet-hit body of Munsur was recovered from the spot. 

One shotgun was also recovered from the scene.
