Anti-dengue drive in 58,747 houses: DSCC mayor DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon talks to reporters

DHAKA: Drives were conducted in 58,747 houses under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) till Monday (August 19), as part of preventing dengue epidemic, said Mayor Sayeed Khokon. 

He made the disclosure while inspecting a cleanliness program at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) marking World Mosquito Day Tuesday (August 20).

"You all know that DNCC has been spraying mosquito repellents in each house to destroy breeding places of aedes, since July," said Sayeed Khokon.

"Aedes larva found in around 1,200 houses have been destroyed," he said.  

The mayor said he is working level best to bring dengue situation under control within first week of September in DNCC areas.
