3 killed in Faridpur road crash

FARIDPUR: Three people, including a bus driver, were killed and 31 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka-Barishal highway in Bhanga upazila on Thursday (August 15).

Two of the deceased were identified as Raushan Fakir, 35, driver of the local bus and a resident of Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur and passenger Mira Kundu, 60 who hailed from Rajbari Sadar.

Ataur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Highway Police Station, told Banglanews that the accident took place when a Saidpur-bound bus of Tuhin Paribahan collided head on with a local bus in Naopara area this morning, leaving two people dead on the spot and 32 others injured.

Of the 32 injured, 14 persons were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where another succumbed to his injuries.

Rests were undergoing treatment at Bhanga upazila health complex, the OC added.
