2 ‘robbers’ killed in Bhola ‘gunfight’

BHOLA: Two suspected robbers were killed in a reported gunfight among gangs of robbers and police on the bank of Meghna River in Sadar upazila early on Wednesday (August 14).

Identity of the two robbers could not be known immediately.    

Sagir Mia, Officer-in-Charge of Bhola Sadar Model Police Station, told Banglanews a team of law enforcers went to bank of Meghna river on information that two gangs of robbers locked into a gunfight there in early hours of the day.

“Sensing the presence of police, the robbers opened fire on them,” the OC said. 

At one stage, the alleged robbers fled the scene with trawlers and the police later found two bodies on the spot.

Law enforcers also claimed to have recovered a firearm, one bullet and two sharp weapons from the scene.
